Like adding more games, AtGames tells me it has designed the Legends Ultimate to be expandable with more peripherals including Bluetooth accessories, alternate cabinet art, light guns, and more. With all these different input options player should feel right at home whether they’re playing pong with a spinner, Centipede with a trackball, or any fighting game with the full-featured fight stick.

Here are some of the games on the ATGames Legends Ultimate Arcade MachineĪtGames’ Legends Ultimate Arcade Machine is a pretty well-rounded unit that includes two full arcade-style control panels complete with joysticks, six action buttons, a trackball, and two spinners for each player. This lets you play other titles AtGames has already released while using the arcade machine like one giant screen and controller. One other way users will be able to add more games is by plugging in one of AtGames’ Blast! kits-essentially a Chromecast for games-into one of the Legends Ultimate’s top-side HDMI ports. Unfortunately, pricing schemes for the ArcadeNet are still being finalized, so we’ll have to sit tight without that crucial knowledge for now. AtGames also wants to add competitive and cooperative multiplayer to all titles on its service. The whole ArcadeNet cloud-connected service will run on a subscription-based model similar to Google Stadia, except games are being beamed directly to an arcade machine. Still, any innovation that keeps interest in the genre alive is a good thing.īTW there's a USB2Gun for sale on eBay right now.YES NONetwork latency will be the biggest pain of playing arcade games streaming from the Internet. I consider it a good sign that I lost interest. Previously I'd have been all over these efforts. I haven't even logged in to the arcade controls forum in over a year. This is why I'm not up to speed on the latest DIY efforts anymore.

I regret my Aimtrak purchase more because it sits unused in a box. I consider it money well spent because I actually use my Sega IR guns, my USB2gun and positional guns. I used to spend a ridiculous amount of time and money on this because I was never happy with the products. I own most of the currently available guns aside from this year's efforts. Most importantly, they're real arcade guns so they're noticeably higher quality than all consumer guns where they always cheap out to keep costs down. They can also be used for all positional gun games. You can also use them on a whole lot of real PCBs as they're used in most HD arcade shooters. You can aim line of sight without constantly having to re-calibrate like you have to with Aimtraks (or Wii remotes). They're accurate and reliable (after time spent on an initial calibration). They don't use a camera so you can use them at arcade-like distances from the screen. They certainly aren't a cheap solution but they have several key advantages over other options: Following this thread and jaybees crt2gun thread closely though! Would love a usb2gun but doesn't look like that will ever come up for sale. Actlabs (1x ray gun and 2x red arcade looking guns).

Guncon1 with the EMS adapter (15k only with groovymame and windows 7)ģ. Pity the sensors and guns are so expensive.Īnd well done in getting a usb2gun board. Zebra - Can you tell more about the sega ir arcade integration with uhid? Are you talking about naomi ir sensors around the screen and the Sega arcade gun? If so you are the first person I've heard of using this setup. The aimtrak gets a lot of bad reviews online but I think it works well as long as the gun is 1.5 to 2 metres away for the sensor. Far more accurate than an aimtrak a close range however. His other DIY project gun4ir is well received but that one does involve a modified guncon shell using ir tech. No release date yet but it certainly looks promising. It can track without flashing in the demo YouTube videos somehow too. Jaybees Crt2gun project is using the actual guncon1 with no modifications and uses a crt:Īpparently it supports any resolution.
